Powers of Attorney

An important part of Estate planning is to ensure that you have prepared a Power of Attorney which is executed properly to ensure that if you are temporarily or permanently unable to handle/manage your financial affairs, the attorney you have appointed under the Power of Attorney is able to do so on your behalf. Rockliffs recommend that you instruct us when preparing the Power of Attorney to provide the required certificate which has the effect of making the Power of Attorney an enduring one (ie to endure notwithstanding if you lose soundness of mind for example by way of coma, dementia or alzheimers). For further information regarding a Power of Attorney, please refer to the article referred to below titled "Power of Attorney - what is it and when might I need one."
